The SKF bearing plant in Thailand started operations in 1973 with a focus on manufacturing bearings for automotive applications. In 1994 it was expanded with an additional production line for industrial motors and generators. The SKF bearing plant in Vietnam started operations in 2007 with a focus on manufacturing bearings for aviation engines. In 2011 it was further expanded with an additional production line for industrial motors and generators.

In Americas, SKF share 15% in sales and also employs across Canada and USA.

SKF’s aerospace business focuses on the design and manufacture of both standard and tailor-made solutions. These include bearings for gearboxes, propeller shafts, landing gear systems and landing gear actuators. It also manufactures complex assemblies such as fuel tanks with their associated components, such as baffles or nozzles.

SKF has been a leading supplier of bearings to the aerospace industry in Europe since it opened its first factory in France in 1972–a facility that was later expanded into one of its largest European manufacturing sites. SKF’s Italian manufacturing facility is located in Genova, which has a long tradition in the manufacturing of precision bearings. The plant was built in 1988 and has been continuously upgraded since then. The plant also hosts our Research & Development Center (R&D), which was established in 1986 to develop new products and processes for high performance bearing solutions for both automotive and industrial applications.

The plant produces small and large series of radial ball bearings, roller bearings, needle roller bearings and spherical roller thrust bearings. It also manufactures bearing units for various industries such as automotive, industrial machinery and equipment, construction equipment, aerospace and defense applications.

SKF has manufacturing facilities in 20 countries and sales partners in more than 120 countries. They produce bearings and related products in the SKF family of brands, as well as other brands owned by other companies.
